A Call For Unity! - Connection - Collaboration - Creation.
Who is Our Competition? Ourselves.
In the world of sim drifting, it’s easy to get caught up in competition—comparing ourselves to others, worrying about what different teams, leagues, or creators are doing. But at the end of the day, our biggest competitor isn’t another driver, another organization, or another modder—it’s ourselves.
Every time you get behind the wheel, the goal isn’t to prove you’re better than someone else. The goal is to be better than you were yesterday. As long as you’re improving, you’re already winning. Competitive nature against others can create division, but when we compete with ourselves, we bring each other closer through sportsmanship, support, and encouragement.
Drivers: A Sport Built on Respect
Drifting is a judged sport, which means there’s no absolute right or wrong all the time—just different perspectives. Judges make calls based on what they see in the moment, and no two people will interpret everything the same way. Instead of turning against each other over decisions, let’s respect the process, respect the judges, and most importantly, respect each other, share our thoughts and opinions with respect.
We’re all human. We all make mistakes. The best thing we can do is focus on learning from them, pushing forward, and helping others do the same. The strongest communities aren’t built on tearing others down, but on lifting each other up.
Competition Organizations: Working Together to Build the Sport
There’s a common misconception that different leagues or competition organizers have to compete against each other for drivers and attention. The reality? We’re all building the same vision—a space where drivers can grow, improve, and push the limits of their skill, and find a place where they are supported in that journey.
Instead of fighting for control, we should be working together to create more opportunities for drivers, more events, and a stronger future for sim drifting. The more we support each other, the more we all win.
When we collaborate and strengthen the community as a whole, we make sim drifting more attractive to outsiders. New drivers, sponsors, and fans become enticed by what we’ve built and want to be part of it. The more we work together, the more the scene grows, bringing in fresh energy, new talent, and even more opportunities for everyone. A thriving, united community is far more appealing than a divided one.
There are thousands of drivers worldwide—there’s no shortage of talent, passion, or opportunity. The only thing that holds us back is the belief that we have to compete rather than collaborate.
Mod Creators: Respect, Communication, and Co-Creation
One of the biggest tensions in the sim drifting community comes from the world of modding. People put in days of hard work to create content, only to see their mods stolen, re-uploaded without credit, or used without permission. This leads to unnecessary conflict, when in reality, a little communication and respect can go a long way.
If you like someone’s work—ask before using it. If you want to learn from them—reach out and start a conversation. There’s so much potential for collaboration, co-creation, and shared progress, but that can only happen if we treat each other with the basic respect we all want in return. We can either build each other up or knock each other down—the choice is always ours.
A Future We Build Together
At the core of it all, we are a community. A strong, passionate, and dedicated group of people who love drifting—whether it’s in real life or in the sim world. There is so much potential within this space, and the best way to unlock it is to work together.
We don’t have to compete against each other—we only have to compete with ourselves. If we commit to growth, respect, and support, we can bring out the best in everyone.
Let’s build this together. Let’s create something great.
