Drift Port

“Drift Port” was a drift circuit in Riga, Latvia, located at the old Rumbula airfield.
The track was made by local enthusiasts, simple tyres, cones, some lines. Just a place where you can practice drifting by yourself or with friends.
Eventually the track rose through fame in Early 2020s. Social media made this place popular between drifters and as well, people started to hold small competitions here that attracted a crowd. The layout changed frequently, but this is probably one of the last ones.
Unfortunately in late April 2023, the track was deconstructed.
Few theories on why include:
– Disagreements between the multiple owners of the airfield (airfield nowadays belongs to multiple companies at once).
– Police interference,
– Disagreements between the organizers.
– Simply giving up to the track due to the bad surface.
Whatever the reason was, only the previous organizers know.
And now, one of the final layouts will stay immortalized here in AC.
